- Medications at School
Students are not
allowed to carry any medication on their person. Violations can
result in suspension.
Most inhalers are
kept in the clinic unless ordered by the physician to be kept on
person. Parents must
sign a Medication Authorization Form for all
inhalers as well as submitting a Physician Authorization Form obtained
at the physicians office.
EpiPens are kept
in the clinic. Parents must sign a Medication Authorization
Form, as well as submitting a Physician
Authorization Form obtained at the physicians office.

A
registered nurse administers all medications.

All
medications, prescription and non-prescription, must have a Medication
Authorization Form signed.

In
special situations, (short term prescription meds- 10 days or
fewer), the container may be used in lieu of a Physician
Authorization Form along with a Medication
Authorization Form.

Whenever
possible, medication must be given during
non-school hours.

All
non-prescriptions must be stored in the manufacturer labeled
container.

All
prescription medication shall be stored in the original pharmacy
container with dosage information.

All
medication must be transported to school by a responsible adult.

Medications
for field trips will be taken care of right before the trip.
