Customizing Toolbars |
The toolbars in Access allow you to select commands and features quickly and easily. Although there are default toolbars, you can customize them to display icons for the commands you use most frequently. You can display several toolbars at once on the screen, and toolbar icons can be dragged and dropped between the toolbars. |
To display or hide a toolbar |
· To display a toolbar, select the Toolbars command from the View menu to display the Toolbars drop down menu. A list of toolbars is displayed which includes: Standard, Formatting, Borders, Database, and Drawing etc. · Choose the Toolbar you want to display by clicking on it from the list. |

The easy way to display or hide toolbars |
· TIP : A quick way of displaying/hiding toolbars is to right click on an existing toolbar, this will display the Toolbars drop down menu, from which you can select or deselect toolbars. |
To create a new toolbar |
· From the View menu, choose the Toolbars then click on Customize to display the Customize dialog box. |

· Select the Toolbars tab and then select the New option to display the New Toolbar dialog box. · Enter a name for the new toolbar and press Enter . The new toolbar will be displayed in the list in the Toolbars dialog box. |

To add or delete an icon on the toolbar |

To add icons to any displayed toolbar choose Toolbars
and then Customize
from the View
menu to display the Customize
dialog box, as illustrated below. Select the Commands
tab and search for the button you want to add. Simply hold down the left mouse button on the button you have chosen and drag it onto the toolbar you wish it to be added to.
· To delete an icon, hold down the Alt key, then hold down the left mouse button on the icon you wish to be deleted, drag the button off the toolbar and let go of the Alt key and mouse button. |
